You will find warmth and comfort in this antique-style one and a half storey home. A completely renovated circa 1940s home, the Cromwell House is situated in a mature garden just off the main drive in the modern town of Clarenville, overlooking the sparkling waters of Random Sound.

With 3 bedrooms, consisting of a king size, a double and two twins, the Cromwell House can comfortably accommodate six guests. There is plenty of room for lounging and entertaining…Simply provides that much appreciated “space” while on vacation. Take advantage of the fully-equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals when you tire of “eating out”.

Your hosts, Brian and Vera Avery, want to ensure you feel at home. If you need anything….just ask.

    Relax…enjoy the space!

The open concept kitchen and dining area, provides a functional, comfortable space for preparing meals and entertaining. The kitchen features a center island and plenty of counter and cupboard space. Also features a “pass through” into the dining room and a small nook with bar-stools – a great place to enjoy a drink while preparing dinner!

The dining room opens into the main living area. The bright, spacious living room features plenty of seating, large windows, and a stone fireplace and mantle. It's the perfect place to lounge around, read your favourite book or cuddle up to watch a movie.

Just down the hall – at the rear of the house is the “The Churchill” bedroom. The bright, spacious bedroom features a comfy double bed, covered with soft duvet and quality linens. It is named after the home's original owner, William Churchill.

The convenient, main floor bathroom has shower stall, sink, and toilet.

And up over the original wooden staircase….

Clarenville is recognized as the Hub of the East Coast and the ideal home base to explore the Discovery Trail. This region offers so much for first time visitors to see and do, it can be a little overwhelming.

To help our guests out, we have incorporated
this “Areas to Explore” section throughout the site highlighting the “must see” areas of the region.

After settling in at the Cromwell House, kick start your visit by taking a leisurely hike up Bare Mountain Trail and enjoy the spectacular view of Clarenville, Random Island and the surrounding bights and sounds. Then head down to Elizabeth Swan Park for a leisurely stroll along the Rotary Trail, which follows a meandering stream, leading you from a typical boreal forest, onwards to a beautiful waterfalls and ending at the Canada Goose Sanctuary. For the more adventurous souls, book an evening kayaking tour. Don’t worry…beginners are more than welcome!

Or just sit back and relax. It’s your place. Enjoy.
